This piece is my take on a classic theme and a tribute to craftsmanship.
It is a small bull, but on its socle it commands respect. I admire craftsmen, past and present, who shape materials with skill and care for nature.
I found this flint stone while walking, and it made me think of prehistoric cave paintings. The stone sat in my workshop for years. Over time, I tried different legs, heads, and bases, but nothing felt right. Recently, I found a nail and a bent piece of iron. Thinking again of cave paintings, I used wire and beeswax to join the parts.
I wrote a blog post about the photoshoot for this Taurus sculpture. Sketches of my work 4.
