Saskia makes jewellery, sculptures and in-between forms

As a child, Saskia created small sculptures and jewellery using items she found on the street and in nature. She graduated as a teacher of handicrafts from the art academy in Maastricht. After losing a family member revives the need to give form to her feelings. She takes a day course in goldsmithing and turns her basement into a studio. She starts with jewellery made of precious metals. Over time, she returns to making sculptures, which led to a variety of materials in her jewellery designs. Saskia is committed to working sustainably, which involves rethinking the entire manufacturing process beyond simply using recycled materials. By incorporating materials other than precious metals and gems, Saskia demonstrates that being environmentally conscious can be innovative and fulfilling, rather than limiting.
