This piece examines loss, the ocean’s depths, and the treasures found within.
The 'Lost at Sea' necklace serves as a wearable tribute to the lost and nameless. Made with pebbles, it represents tangible remnants of longing left behind at sea. These pebbles evoke forgotten stories, secrets, and the enduring hope of those awaiting a sign from loved ones.
The necklace is part of my Pebbles Are a Girl's Best Friend project, which explores creative ways to repurpose a concrete drill core. I transform this industrial remnant into materials for jewellery and other objects. I use pigments derived from debris and the stones to bring sustainability into practice and demonstrate the potential of reused materials.
