The significance of providing medical assistance to those in need.
In April 2025, I saw a news item in The Lancet about cuts to foreign aid for HIV/AIDS. I was shocked by the projected rise in deaths in Africa from these cuts.
At the same time, I read an open call from Syldyr to create data art jewellery. Motivated by my concern, I made a necklace using my personal data to raise awareness about these cuts.
In April 2018, we adopted a cat diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), the feline equivalent of HIV. Since then, we have given him Interferon twice daily. So far, we have used 28 bottles of Interferon, which I incorporated into the necklace.
Health issues affect many, and when medication is available, it should be accessible to all. It is important to recognise the social impact of HIV and the loss of life from AIDS.

Inspired by Syldyr’s second exhibition, titled "Jewelry Code: Data as Wearable Art" this necklace was created and later included in the exhibition at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana from October 2 to December 12 and in the Museum of Fine Arts from December 9 to December 16 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan.
