A ring with a very personal meaning

At the end of my father's life, my father and I sought solace by philosophising together about his life hereafter. We agreed, as if to say, that he would enter a parallel universe. Our two universes are only separated by a thin sheet of membrane with a tiny opening. An opening not to be looked through, but to have our infinite love flowing back and forth.
This ring is my visualisation of our idea and the last design he has seen here. To me, this design stands for the deep allegiance and the love which exists between my father and me, and for my gratitude for all that I have been able to learn from my father.
It is made from the mounting material used to cover a screw used to hang a mirror. The cabochon of howlite is clamped between the two parts of this cover.
